Cliff Otieno is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Invesco Assurance Company Limited, a position he has held since 2013. As the CEO, Cliff’s basic role is to provide leadership on a day to day basis to the two hundred plus team in achieving Invesco’s purpose. Part of this leadership role involves close liaison with the Board of Directors, shareholders, regulators and other key stake holders in delivering the mission and vision of the company.
Cliff joined Invesco on re-opening in 2010 as the Chief Finance Officer (CFO). In 2012, Cliff was asked to act as the CEO after the immediately preceding holder separated from the company.
Cliff is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of ICPAK. In addition to other qualifications, Cliff holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce.
Mr. Wekesa’s career spans over 10 years in internal audit and risk management both in the private and public sectors. His areas of concentration include but not limited to review of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. He has previously worked for Mastermind Tobacco (K) Ltd, Kenya Forest Service, Commission for Higher Educations and Kenya Railways Corporation and Invesco Assurance where he held a Senior Internal Audit position. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Kenyatta University, CPA (K), CIA-Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya Chapter and CISA from KCA University. He is currently pursuing MBA (Finance) from the University of Nairobi. He is a Member of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Certified public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
Rosemary has over eight years’ experience in legal and regulatory affairs and is responsible for ensuring that the company’s overall operations and structures comply with requisite legal, regulatory and corporate governance framework. She joined Invesco in 2010 as a member of the core team that restructured the company soon after it resumed operations from statutory management. Particularly she was instrumental in reorganizing and streamlining the operations of the board and the legal department.Her areas of expertise are Commercial and Corporate law,Corporate Governance, Industrial Relations, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and has a keen interest in Entrepreneurship. She holds an LLM in Commercial Law from Cardiff University (UK), a Law Diploma from the Kenya School of Law, and an LLB (Hons) from the University of Nairobi. She is also Certified Public Secretary (CPS (K) and is a member of both the Law Society of Kenya and the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries.
Mr Ngunyi is currently the Head of Marketing after serving for a short stint as the Underwriting & Reinsurance Manager at Invesco. Previously, he served as a Branch Manager from 2010 to 2014. He brings on board over 30 years of knowledge acquired while serving different capacities in both the Reinsurance and insurance industry. He holds a Diploma in Economics and Commerce .He also has a Certificate in Insurance from College of Insurance, London and working to qualify as an Associate of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK). He is also in charge of coordination of Operations activities.
Mr Mwangi has over 9 years of experience in different environments ranging from Insurance, ISP/Telecommunications and banking. He has been Head of ICT at Invesco from 2011. He was previously an ICT Manager at Access Kenya Limited, a Technical Support Engineer at Barclays Bank and a Systems Analyst at Synergy-Pro Limited. He has a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Master of Science in Information Technology from Strathmore University. He is also Synergy-Pro LAN Support Certified.
Mr Mugo joined Invesco in 2015 as the System Audit Manager. He had previously been with Turnkey Africa from 2009 – 2014 as a General Insurance Business Analyst and System Developer. Mr Mugo has a Bachelor of Science with a major in Computer Science and a Minor in Mathematics from Maseno University.
As the Company’s Operations Manager, Job is responsible for developing and implementing the company’s Enterprise wide Risk Management framework. He has over 4 years’ experience in Governance, Risk and Compliance having joined Invesco in May 2015 from ICEA LION Group where he began his career. He holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree – Risk and Insurance option from Moi University and is currently pursuing his MBA – Finance option at University of Nairobi. He is also finalising his professional qualifications in International Diploma in Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management – UK. Job is also a CPA finalist.
Mr. Gedeon Matingi is the Underwriting and Reinsurance Manager having risen from the position of Senior Underwriting Officer, a position he held since joining Invesco in 2010. He brings on board over 30 years’ underwriting experience acquired from serving in various capacities in the insurance industry. He is currently working towards qualifying as a Chartered Insurer (ACII) and has made significant progress towards this.
For the more than 24 years that he has served various companies in the insurance industry, Mr. Mulanya has acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience in marketing and administration. He is described as a focused, organized and results oriented individual. Qualities that have from time to time to enabled him to be called upon to assist in the formation of PSV Saccos and education of its members. He is currently in the process of streamlining all the PSV Saccos at Invesco and continues to keep abreast with the developments in the industry by attending relevant courses organized by various bodies.
Michael started his accounting career over twenty eight years ago after completing his ‘O’ Levels and pursuing accountancy. He has a wealth of Insurance Accounting and Insurance regulatory compliance experience acquired over 13 years while working for various insurance companies in different capacities. Prior to joining the insurance industry he worked for an international NGO as a project manager for 6 years. Michael has been instrumental in the setting up of the Invesco Accounting Policies and implementation of the company’s integrated Information Management System.
With over 19 years’ experience in Human resources and administration, Josephine is currently the Ag. Human Resources Manager. She joined Invesco in 2010 and has spearheaded a number of the company’s key human resource strategies, policies and programs. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Human Resource Management and a Diploma in Business Administration and is currently pursuing an MBA in Human Resource Management. She is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM)
